Background and Objectives

Delayed graft function (DGF) is the most significant complication of a cadaveric kidney transplant.

This study aimed at undertaking an assessment of the predictable risk factors of DGF and its effects on the recipient and graft survival.

Study Design

The methodology employed in the study has been described in Table 1.

Key Results

The incidence rate of DGF was estimated to be 43.5%.

Assessment of risk factors for DGF

Risk factors for DGF were as mentioned in Table 2.

Survival Rates

1-year patient survival rates and graft survival rates have been illustrated in Figure 1.

Conclusion

The unfavorable impact of PTA was significantly enhanced by low allograft function.

There exists a likelihood of PTA being associated with graft failure due to interaction with allograft function.

Therefore, while strategizing treatment modalities, both Hb level and allograft function should be taken into consideration.
