Pirotan Island is one of forty-two islands in the marine park region, located within the proximity of the Marine National Park in the Jamnagar district of Gujarat on the western coast, with a total size of 3 square kilometres.

Facts on Pirotan Island

Pirotan Island is a small island in the Arabian Sea’s Marine National Park. It is located 12 nautical miles off the shore in the Gujarat state of India’s Jamnagar district. Mangroves and low-tide beaches make up the majority of the area. It is India’s first maritime national park, having been created in 1982. The island was named after Pirotan Patan, an ancient city that was most likely located near Bedi Bandar.
